They Owe Him BIG TIME

As the Sun, I do the best landscape lighting in the entire solar system. Spring, summer, and fall are the seasons of my best work, while in winter I don’t have much to work with unless it snows. Lighting the results of an ice storm, however, gives me a rare chance for a masterpiece. I’ve submitted a photo of this to a National Geographic competition. I can make things very difficult for them if I don’t win.
Scroll home page for 5 latest photos. “Favorites Gallery” has the classics.

The outcome of the National Geographic competition is crystal clear. It also sheds light on the evaluation process.
The Sol outcome!
fairies they came as the morning light, cause they forgot to leave during the night, as day dawned and sun said hello
fairies turned into slivery lights..and someone took a picture for delight
A very lyrical and poetic interpretation of the scene, Kalabula. It’s fun thinking of the fairies turning into “silvery lights” at dawn. And I was the someone who “took” delight!
quiet right
Wow! That’s beautiful, John!
Best wishes in the NatGeo competition ~ do let us know if us publicans get a chance to have input on “who wins”!
Meanwhile: Go, Sun!!!
Thanks, Karen! The NatGeo mention was just “SunSpeak”–just for the sake of the caption. I haven’t actually entered a contest.
Oh.
Well, can one get cards or a print of some of your work anywhere?
This could be a wonderful blank card or calendar page…
Thanks, Karen. There is a link on the home page to The Daily Graff photos that I’ve turned into cards, posters and prints: http://thedailygraff.com/graff-photos-as-cards-and-prints/
The current photo isn’t available yet, but you’ve given me an idea–to create a Daily Graff CALENDAR with the photos and captions!
it’s good that they are strategically working both sides of the fence.
It’s good that you never strategically straddle a pun.
