Now I’ve Heard Ever-y Thing

I am a rose bed, featuring several varieties and colors of roses. I’m the envy of the neighborhood during the warm months, but in winter I just look like a collection of dead twigs. How could I be so beautiful part of the year and so ugly now? Maybe God didn’t want me to get too full of myself, but this seems extreme. I think roses should get to keep their leaves all year, and you can call it for what it is: “Evergreen Envy.”

Poor trellis. If he were the good old fashioned stained wood, then with the woody green or red wood stain he would be fashionable all year long. He might even branch out with festive decorations.
The redwood trellis is in the back yard, but I’ve never told this one.
The roses are a bit of Jekyll and Hyde, but rose hips are a pretty sight too. Did your roses get short changed?
I’ll have to be less tidy next year.
But when warmer weather comes, y’all will be climbing the wall(s) in jubilance.
Not all roses climb the ladder of excess.
