My architect had to stand in the corner so often as a kid that he was determined to slog his way through kindergarten, elementary school, high school, college, and grad school JUST so he could design buildings without corners. At each building dedication he thanks his parents for “narrowing his focus” and for “providing an environment free of distractions.” They think these are compliments.
