I’m a chandelier in a mansion museum that was built when embellishments were the norm. The comment I hear most often now is, “I’d hate to have to dust all this.”

Never thought I would find dirty talk here…
Neither did I. The devil made me do it. And unto dust I shall return.
Dust we forget, the times they are a changing.
Yes, there were no BLOGS in those days.
In those days a person living in a ‘mansion’ had servants or housekeepers to do this task. They didn’t have air conditioning. They opened the windows, maybe the dust blew out.
If you’re worried about dusting, you’re thinking of yourself as a servant,
not as the owner. I’m the owner!
That’s true. A whole lot of service-sector people would have had no work if the old grand houses had been modern. I’m also an owner, but, alas, still a slave to the mortgage.
I can associate with that as my chandeliers are like this with a huge chain as well.
But there’s always the bright side. Or lighter side
Hang in there.
It wood serve well to be a smooth operator in this casing.
