Believe

2014_12_24 Chicago Macy's Walnut Room Tree 2

I’m being projected onto the ceiling of the Walnut Room to encourage diners, for one shining moment, to believe in retail.  Mini-projectors are being sold online–buy one get one 50% off–so I can appear on home ceilings.

  • John – The poor retailers didn’t get anything from us this year. Oh how I loved your Christmas card. I instantly thought of ‘Believing in my Faith’ when I saw the reflection on the ceiling of the Walnut Room, for that is what has gotten me through so many times before. Happy New Year, John. You are a treasure to many of us. May the coming year be filled with many blessings for you and your family. Sheri

    • Thank you, Sheri. You have been a treasure to countless people over the years and are much admired and respected (as reflected in the comments on your blog posts).

      • I was able to reconnect with Al as a result of your blog. We followed each other when I first started blogging and then he fell out of my reader – so much for depending on my reader. Thank you for being there and when I opened my site this morning, I had all those smiling faces of yours and my heart sang. Talk later.

And Happy New Year to you, John! Now, stop and close your eyes. Imagine this message on your ceiling!

I believe this department store is a destination. There is so much to see
and appreciate. Today, going to Wall Mart isn’t going to make you believe in anything. The next ceiling projection should be ‘appreciate’.

    • This department store IS a destination! I think you would have to go to London to find one so grand. It was originally a Marshall Field’s, and Mrs. Fields wanted the Walnut Room to be a place where society women could meet and dine. The glass mosaic ceiling in the Center Hall took 50 Tiffany artisans nearly 2 years to complete.

    But do you Believe it?

Happy New Year my friend. I hope your first full year of retirement is awesome and that you have great fun with your camera.

Bob Cratchett & others would have us to Believe in something much more infallible. Happy New Year to you & yours, John!

…. 🙂 Happy New Year Dear John, Blessing and Happiness, Thanks and Love, nia
