My two towers are different. Not surprising from an architect who wore mismatched socks. The lack of symmetry drives me insane!
Inside joke. This is the former Athens Mental Hospital.

OMG! “off” or NO symmetry drives me crazy!!!
Thanks for commenting, Courtney! I agree, but the habit goes WAY back. Have you noticed how many Gothic cathedrals have different front towers? What were they THINKING!
For the architect the design was a trivial pursuit or a memory lapse in right side versus left side. Go figure!
Maybe a right-brain left-brain split?
There’s probable mood swings in the back yard for residents. Maybe a slide for those going downhill.
Unlike your comment, let’s hope the residents weren’t pun-ished. 🙂
It’s as symmetrical as a scalene triangle. But I bet it has all manor of skeletons housed in its wardrobes
You’re right on target. The building is said to be haunted. See the story (and more pics): http://hauntedathensohio.com/the-ridges-mental-health-institution/
Just noticed that the last pic is a video. Recommended.
I like them 🙂
Wonder if the architect took up residence here at some point.
THAT would be ironic. Just as when you build your own house, he would daily see things he would have done differently.
