I’m Sure THAT Cheered Him Up

Basking Plant

No, I do understand, Mr. Tree.  I would be upset too if I had to be out in the bitter cold watching an indoor plant enjoying heavenly warmth, ideal humidity, regular feedings, frequent grooming, and owners who lavish me with love and adoration.  Did I mention the great view?

Great view? Ha! I can see all around the neighborhood, I always have fresh air, and the birds and squirrels love me.

And too, the spotlight is on me, not you! Mr. Tree, you have ivy growing up on you (poison, at, that) while I am your envy!!!

I’m tough, I’m hearty, I don’t mind the cold or the beautiful coat of snow.
I saw what you did to my little nephew just 2 months ago. You brought him inside, put wires, lights, silver, gold, and a hundred beautiful decorations on him. I envied him! A month later I saw you strip him of all the finery and throw him out with the rubbish. He was cut down in the prime of life. If it’s alright with you, I’m happy to enjoy my life decorating
all seasons in your back yard.

Mr. Tree, perhaps a bit frosted by Indoor’s patronization, pines for a warmer place to sleep.

What’s this?
